A couple of months ago, Florida was hit by Hurricane Irma. It left much destruction and many without power for days, and some for weeks. This particular storm hit me a little differently than past ones, as I realized how much is affected when the power goes out. It made me realize that we are so dependent on power for so much of our lives; just to function each and every day. Have you ever thought about it?
Here are a few things that will happen if the power goes out:
- Can’t get gas for your car or generator
- Can’t use credit cards for anything
- Can’t get cash from the ATM
- Can’t buy groceries or water
- Don’t have lights in your house
- Can’t cook
- Can’t have a warm shower
- Can’t watch tv
- Can’t use any electronics once the batteries die
- Can’t pay the monthly bills
Wow! That is a lot of CAN’Ts!!!
Well, what CAN you do ahead of time in case you ever lose your power? One thing is to set up online bill pay or even automatic payments. When I saw that Hurricane Irma was coming our way, I immediately paid early on my bills that aren’t automatically paid. This gave me such a sense of relief in knowing that everything was taken care of ahead of time for the next month or two. I didn’t have to worry.
Rediscovered Moments Concierge has professionals who can assist you in setting up online bill pay and/or automatic payments for everything in your life. We are able to take such a daunting task of organizing all of your bills and statements, and setting up the most efficient system for you. In today’s world of technology, most everything can be paid online, but not when the power goes out. But if you have taken the time before a disaster happens, all your bills can be paid automatically each month for you or you can prepay while the power is still on.
Now, how nice does this all sound? "WONDERFUL", comes to my mind. Let’s take this step together before the next storm comes; to give you a sense of peace and control over your affairs.
